Terms of Use

These Terms of Use set forth the conditions for using the mobile application "Selfie Mosaic." By installing or using the app, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Important: Automatic mosaic processing is an assistive tool intended to reduce the identifiability of people. It does not guarantee complete de-identification. Please review the mosaic result yourself before sharing any content. (Article 6)

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms are intended to define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between HongRaeCho (the "Creator") and users in connection with the use of the mobile application "Selfie Mosaic" (the "App") provided by the Creator.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. "App" means the real-time mosaic camera application provided by the Creator.
  2. "User" means any person who installs and uses the App in accordance with these Terms.
  3. "Content" means photos and videos captured by the User through the App.
  4. "Mosaic Feature" means the App feature that automatically blurs faces and similar areas of people in video, excluding the User.

Article 3 (Effect and Changes of Terms)

  1. These Terms become effective when posted in the App or on this page.
  2. The Creator may change these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable laws and will provide prior notice of the effective date and reason for any change.
  3. If a User does not agree to changed Terms, the User may stop using and delete the App.

Article 4 (Service Description)

  1. The App provides functionality to automatically apply mosaic processing to people other than the User in camera footage and save the result as photos or videos.
  2. The App is provided free of charge.
  3. All video processing is performed on the User's device, and the Creator does not operate a separate server.
  4. The Creator may add or change all or part of the App's features to improve the service.

Article 5 (Use of the Service)

  1. The App can be used on compatible devices running iOS.
  2. Use of the App requires permission to access device features such as the camera. The purpose of each permission is described in the Privacy Policy.

Article 6 (Limitations and Disclaimer for the Mosaic Feature)

  1. The Mosaic Feature is an assistive tool intended to reduce the identifiability of people in video and does not guarantee complete de-identification in all situations.
  2. Depending on shooting conditions such as lighting, distance, angle, movement, or occlusion, faces may not be recognized, mosaic processing may be applied only partially, or the User may be temporarily mosaicked.
  3. The User must directly review mosaic processing results before sharing or posting Content externally.
  4. The Creator makes no express or implied warranties regarding recognition accuracy or processing results of the Mosaic Feature and is not responsible for consequences arising from them.

Article 7 (User Obligations)

  1. The User must use the App in compliance with applicable laws and these Terms.
  2. The User is responsible for not infringing third-party rights such as portrait rights, privacy, and personal information rights in connection with Content captured or shared using the App.
  3. The User must not use the App for illegal purposes, including filming others without consent.
  4. Regardless of whether the Mosaic Feature is used, the User bears legal responsibility for capturing, storing, and sharing Content.

Article 8 (Ownership of Content)

  1. Rights to Content captured by the User through the App belong to the User.
  2. The Creator does not collect, store, or use Content, and Content is stored only on the User's device.

Article 9 (Intellectual Property Rights)

Intellectual property rights in the App and its software, design, trademarks, and other components belong to the Creator. The User may not copy, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from them without the Creator's prior consent.

Article 10 (Limitation of Liability)

  1. The Creator is not liable for damages caused by events beyond the Creator's reasonable control, such as natural disasters, defects in the User's device, or operating system changes.
  2. The App is provided "as is," and the Creator does not warrant that the App will be suitable for any particular purpose or be error-free or uninterrupted.
  3. The Creator is not liable for disputes or damages arising from Content created or shared by the User through the App.

Article 11 (Service Suspension)

The Creator may discontinue operation of the App and will make efforts to provide prior notice through reasonable means in such case.

Article 12 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

  1. These Terms are interpreted and applied in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  2. For disputes between the Creator and the User relating to use of the App, the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act of the Republic of Korea will be the court of first instance.

Supplementary Provision

These Terms take effect on May 22, 2026.
